the spirit official movie poster Die nächste Comic-Superhelden-Verfilmung von Frank Miller (Sin City, 300) steht in den Startlöchern:

In Will Eisner’s “The Spirit” wird die Story von Denny Colt (Gabriel Macht) erzählt, der seinen eigenen Tod vortäuscht um wiedergeboren zu werden, nur damit er das Böse in der Stadt Central City, vor allem in Persona des “Octopus” (Samuel L. Jackson), bekämpfen kann.

Das 3-teilige Poster des Action-Films spricht schon mal für sich und erinnert mich stark an Sin City. Der Schauspieler-Cast wird ebenfalls vom Feinsten und mit Hollywood-Stars geschmückt sein: Neben Hauptdarsteller Gabriel Macht spielt Samuel L. Jackson den Erzfeind. Mit dabei ausserdem u.a. Scarlett Johansson, Eva Mendes und Paz Vega.

Ich denke der Film wird mehr als nur eine Zeitüberbrückung auf die Fortsetzungen der erfolgreichen Sin City Comic Reihe sein und vielleicht ebenfalls einen Platz in meinem Filmherzen einnehmen. “The Spirit” wird laut offiziellen Angaben im Januar 2009 zu sehen sein. Ich bin schon auf den ersten Trailer gespannt.

“Down these mean streets a man must come. A hero born, murdered, and born again. When a Rookie cop named Denny Colt returns from the beyond as The Spirit, a hero whose mission is to fight against the bad forces from the shadows of Central City. The Octopus who kills anyone unfortunate enough to see his face who has other plans. He’s going to wipe out the entire city. The Spirit tracks this cold hearted killer from the city’s rundown warehouses, to the damp catacombs, to the windswept waterfront all the while facing a bevy of beautiful women who either want to seduce, love or kill the masked crusader.”
